Jackson Hole and Mountain View Trip
In October, we took Amy and Josh and spent a beautiful weekend in Jackson Hole and Mountain View, Wyoming. We began our weekend outdoors and we took a few hikes and looked for moose.
As you can see, it was pretty cold. We got a hotel with a hot tub and a great breakfast buffet. It turned out to be cookies and orange juice, so we also went to McDonalds. We loved our hotel beds; they were bunk beds. Fun! We had lunch on our first day at Bubba's barbecue, and then we took a small hike around Jenny Lake. The next day we hiked to the water falls on the west side of Jenny Lake. They were partly frozen and Josh and Larry played with the ice. While looking for moose, the ranger closed the road since the bears were out. Unfortunately we didn't see the bears, even after a drive through bear country escorted by the ranger. We DID see some elk and they were grand.
We even saw a sign that cautioned us about moose crossing, but we didn't find them. We had to be satisfied with the waterfall instead. Not too bad!
On the way home, we made a wonderful stop in Mountain View. We went to dinner with the Andersons at Goin' South restaurant, which has become a tradition for us. We stayed in the spacious Gateway Inn. :) It is the only place within 30 miles and has a very warm heater.
We went to church with them on Sunday and heard Will and Rosie say their parts in the Sacrament Meeting program. They were wonderful.
