Disney Cruise

We left on Saturday, March 10 for Los Angeles, where we stayed in a hotel for the night. We ate dinner at Il Fornaio and Carolyn joined us late that night. The next morning, we walked to church and immediately following that, we headed to the Disney Wonder cruise ship.

The weather in L.A. and northern Mexico was colder than we anticipated, and the water at all of the beaches was slightly chilly. To warm up on the ship, we spent time in the heated pools and hot tubs.

The food was incredible. There were snack stations, drink stations, and ice cream stations everywhere! We ate a buffet right when we got on the ship and it was the first of many. For dinners, we ate at three restaurants on a rotation (Animator's Palate, Parrot Cay, and Triton's) and we had the same waiters each time, Sunil and Dumano. We had two adjoining staterooms with verandahs. Here's Josh on one of the beds:

We saw some amazing shows, including a hypnotist/comedian, a juggler/comedian (who was hilarious!), a ventriloquist/comedian, and Broadway-esque shows with dancers and singers, such as Toy Story, Dreams, Remember the Magic, and the Golden Mickeys. We also saw first-run Disney movies in their theater, including Muppets, John Carter, and African Cats. Mom saw Warhorse as well.

Our first port of call was Puerto Vallarta. Unfortunately, Josh got sick the night before and had to stay on the ship with Mom. We rented a van for the day and had a random old guy with a raccoon tail hanging out of his hat drive us to several beaches. Unfortunately, some of us got sunburned. In the afternoon, Carolyn stayed with Josh while Mom, Dad, Laura, and Amy walked to another beach. Here are some pictures of us on the beaches in Puerto Vallarta:

Our next port was Cabo San Lucas, where we stayed for two days. Josh was still sick for both of these days. We took water taxis everywhere and saw sea lions in the water. We went to several beaches including Playa del amor and playa del divorcio, and we also parasailed there, which was really fun.

We also saw fireworks shot from our cruise ship one night, Mom and Dad saw whales spouting from our verandah, and Dad saw flying marlins.

Our waiters were hilarious. Sunil always said "my gosh!" which we quoted often. One night, Laura asked for one Mickey ice cream bar and Sunil brought out seven. Then he would bring out seven every night and we stuffed ourselves with those after a 5-course meal. We were sometimes in pain after dinner. Dumano and Laura flirted with each other also. :)

It was an amazing vacation and we all had a great time.
