Amy's graduation

On Thursday, May 30, was the senior breakfast. I (Amy) was honored for being awarded the National Merit BYU scholarship, which pays for my full tuition for 4 years. I also somehow managed to earn an award for being an outstanding science student, which was unexpected considering that I haven't taken any of the advanced science classes! Anyway, that night I graduated from seminary. We didn't take any pictures, but I played the piano for the opening song and for a musical number performed by my class, "Consider the Lilies." On Friday, May 31, I graduated from high school! The ceremony was at the Arena Auditorium and afterwards I went to project graduation with my friends until 4 am. There was great food, music, games, a magician, a hypnotist, and awesome prizes! Sadly, I did not win the car, but I did get $50 in cash and a $50 gift certificate for Nu 2 U, a secondhand clothing store here in Laramie. It was a lot of fun, but I was exhausted and slept until noon the next day. On Saturday, we had a family barbecue to celebrate, with Dad's famous barbecue chicken. It was delicious!

It is a crazy feeling to know that I am done with high school forever! High school was a great experience for me overall, but I am definitely looking forward to the changes and improvements that college will bring next year. Thanks to my family for making my graduation so special! :)

Amy, you are awesome! Congratulations on being done with high school (and for being an outstanding science student! Ha ha!)I'm so proud of you for having such amazing academic success and for being such a good person. And you look gorgeous in all of your photos!

Graduating high school is such an intense moment of life. I still remember mine so well. I was so nervous and excited to be separated from the people that I had spent all of my life with ever since 7th grade. It all turns out okay, and college frickin' rocks! Watch out, BYU! Amy is on her way.

On January 6th, I got braces from my orthodontist, Dr. Edwards. He said I will be wearing them for about 3 years. My teeth were very sore for the first few days, and all I could eat was stuff like yogurt, soup and other soft food. Yellowstone & Teton

 Mom and I went up to the northwest corner of our beautiful state of Wyoming.  First, we stopped overnight in Grand Teton Natl Park .   it was a very short cabin (and an original settler's one) it was a little smoky. Next we drove to Mammoth Hot Springs in the NW corner of Yellowstone NP. we had a ton of elk right in front of our cabin! Buffalo everywhere in Lamar Valley, where a few of you went as 4th graders. The bull elk comes into town....ready to fight for his mating ritual Next we went on the BearTooth Highway, which reaches nearly 11, 000 feet and usually has mountain goats. Next we headed down to Old Faithful and the Geyser basin.  it was truly amazing! one of our favorites--Sapphire pool! Some of you may remember Riverside Geyser Good Old Faithful....erupts every 90 minutes, but only lasts about 3-5 minutes a new find--Castle Geyser--it went off for 20-25 minutes! our cabin at Old Faithful Lodge Our last stop was in the Canyon and Falls area .... Trip to Washington DC, Frankfurt, and Switzerland

We spent the days from July 4th to July 8th in Washington DC with Jenny's parents, siblings and families, and with Laura and Andrew, Rob, Carolyn, Kip, Lainey, Evelyn, Nora, Mary, and Hannah Here are a few fun pictures of the family reunion -- And, yes, we visited with Uncle Max at a Greek Restaurant. It was good to see him. Then Larry and I flew to Frankfurt for his week of teaching Star Alliance. At the end of the week, we had two days of fun in Switzerland. Our first day was spent on Jungfrau Pass between the Jungfrau and Monch Peaks, which are as tall as the Tetons and covered in glaciers.
