Spring break 2014
We had an amazing spring break this year!
We started in Provo, seeing Amy and enjoying the beautiful mountains. We went to see the Dead Sea Scrolls in Salt Lake City and we attended all three hours of Amy's ward. It was wonderful to see Amy and to meet Grant at a delicious Olive Garden lunch.
On Monday morning, we flew to Phoenix so that Amy could get some work done. :) Dad and Mom went to the Mesa temple. Jenny's grandparents were sealed in the Mesa temple in 1927 -- Wallace Shumway and Zina Owens. Pretty amazing!
Next we drove to a beautiful lookout point at South Mountain Park. Here is a view of some of Phoenix from the mountaintop. Did you know that Phoenix is the 6th largest city in the US? The population is 4.5 million residents.
The next day we hiked to the top of Camelback mountain which had similar views. . . but the hike almost killed us. There are poles for you to pull yourself up along the boulders and we weren't sure we could make it. Needless to say, a camera was the last thing on our mind. Sorry, guys. :) We gained 1300 feet in elevation in just over one mile of hiking. The average grade was over 25%. The climb was on Jenny's bucket list. One thing done!!
One reason we went to Phoenix was so that we could swim. Here is Josh swimming the butterfly in our hotel pool. The temperatures were in the 80s everyday.
We relaxed afterwards at a fun Rockies game.

We also went to a baseball game with Dick Scarlett and Kent and Tate Noble (Dick's son-in-law and grandson). Unfortunately, you will have to ignore the guy behind us photobombing us.
The next day, we drove to the Gilbert temple and then Josh and Jenny went ziplining at the zoo. In this photo, Josh is ziplining with Lindsay Noble. There is another photo of Jenny ziplining with Lindsay's mom, Leslie. Dad went golfing with Lindsay's grandpa, Dick Scarlett.
Then we headed back to Provo to spend one last day with Amy at the Museum of Art for the Sacred Gifts exhibit and a show of Pride and Prejudice. We ate dinner at Brick Oven, too.
All in all, we had an incredible spring break. Thank you for hosting us, Amy.

I wish I could have been with you guys. It is always so fun to travel with the family and spend that quality time together.
Also, Mom, congratulations on checking something off of your bucket list. It sounds like it was quite a feat! You guys kick butt.
