Finally! An update! 

We are so sorry for the non-existence of our family in the past few months, but we are ready to get back to blogging!

We had a great thanksgiving break! Amy came over from Provo, and Paul and Laura came over from Cheyenne. It was great to see them! On thanksgiving day, we all helped cook for the big feast, and then, while the turkey was in the oven, we went and saw Mockingjay, the latest installment of the Hunger Games series. It was a great movie, but our stomachs were growling so loudly at the end it was hard to hear. :)  After that, we indulged in our feast; we had turkey (of course!), mashed potatoes, homemade rolls, sweet potato casserole, gravy, delicious stuffing WITH bacon this year, buttery corn, and so much more delicious food, as well as the Weatherford classic grape juice mixed with seven up. 

After about four or five servings, we got into the pie! We had two homemade pies (made by Paul) that were chocolate and apple, as well as a peanut butter silk pie, pumpkin (made by Laura), and pear crisp (made by Amy). It was so delicious! After that, we enjoyed a nice game of Balderdash, which is one of our favorites. To end off the night, we watched "Angels and Demons," a great movie that we all loved. It was a great day!

The day after that, everyone came back over, including Carmella, and we set up Christmas lights. It was our first year of placing them on our new house (because last year was so stressful), and it went extremely well. This new house even has a system that will automatically turn on the lights and turn them off. No more running outside in the cold! Here are some pictures of the process:




As you can see, Dad was the one that did most of the work. 

And here is the final result. I think that we hit a home run!

  


On Saturday, we went to a UW basketball game. We played New Mexico State, and even though it was a close game, we ended up winning in the end. Here we are at the game:

On January 6th, I got braces from my orthodontist, Dr. Edwards. He said I will be wearing them for about 3 years. My teeth were very sore for the first few days, and all I could eat was stuff like yogurt, soup and other soft food. Trip to West Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia

First we visited with the Holderness family. So fun! Yes, there may have been donuts and Italian food. Next we drove to Baltimore and saw Rob's wonderful apartment -- Next we drove to Christiansburg, Virginia, for a couple of days at Virginia Tech with Laura and Andrew -- Om our last day, we hiked to Cascade Fall. Beautiful!

Yellowstone & Teton

 Mom and I went up to the northwest corner of our beautiful state of Wyoming.  First, we stopped overnight in Grand Teton Natl Park .   it was a very short cabin (and an original settler's one) it was a little smoky. Next we drove to Mammoth Hot Springs in the NW corner of Yellowstone NP. we had a ton of elk right in front of our cabin! Buffalo everywhere in Lamar Valley, where a few of you went as 4th graders. The bull elk comes into town....ready to fight for his mating ritual Next we went on the BearTooth Highway, which reaches nearly 11, 000 feet and usually has mountain goats. Next we headed down to Old Faithful and the Geyser basin.  it was truly amazing! one of our favorites--Sapphire pool! Some of you may remember Riverside Geyser Good Old Faithful....erupts every 90 minutes, but only lasts about 3-5 minutes a new find--Castle Geyser--it went off for 20-25 minutes! our cabin at Old Faithful Lodge Our last stop was in the Canyon and Falls area ....
