Hawaii Maui 2017

We spent a week in Hawaii in August with Maria, Clark, Will, Rosie, and Addy. Note the cool hairstyles of these men on a boat. Clark and Will went deep sea fishing the second day and served fresh-caught Mahi Mahi for dinner that night. Wow! 

We drove the road to Hana with one motorcycle (Clark and Maria) and one SUV (Larry, Jenny, and the children). It was on this trip that Larry earned the title of "State Nut." This was inspired by listening to Craig describe every little detail of the state of Hawaii for too long. There were 52 one-lane bridges, and not everyone was nice and took turns. When people went out of turn, Larry rolled down the window and said, "Seriously, buddy!"

The next day we went snorkeling off of Molokini, and we saw turtles, angel fish, eels, and so many other beautiful fish.

We could see the islands of Lanai, Koolave, and Molokai on our cruise.

Maria discovered the Island Cream Company and we loved the ice cream!

Amy got some gorgeous photos of the sunset. We had a beautiful sunset EVERY night that we were in Hawaii. Wow! 


 We ate at Bubba Gumps one night and enjoyed fancy drinks and the view of the ocean.
 We drove to several other beautiful beaches and at this one -- Kaapalua -- we actually saw and swam with a sea turtle.

 Our hotel had some fantastic pools and hot tubs. Of course, there was a slide.
 Of course, we had to try shave ice. Maria found an amazing place and we enjoyed the ice cream, shave ice, and even mochi on the top.
We loved the beach and got plenty of sun during this wonderful, relaxing week.

What beautiful pictures! It sounds like an incredible trip. I chuckled when reading about Dad earning the title of "State Nut" and I'm glad you guys were able to enjoy some delicious Mahi Mahi, caught and prepared by Clark! How fun. I love you all!

I love all the pictures! What a great post -- I laughed at the "Seriously, buddy!?" and was stunned by the beauty of the sunset pictures. It looks like a great time, and I'm glad you got to enjoy it together. :)

On January 6th, I got braces from my orthodontist, Dr. Edwards. He said I will be wearing them for about 3 years. My teeth were very sore for the first few days, and all I could eat was stuff like yogurt, soup and other soft food. Yellowstone & Teton

 Mom and I went up to the northwest corner of our beautiful state of Wyoming.  First, we stopped overnight in Grand Teton Natl Park .   it was a very short cabin (and an original settler's one) it was a little smoky. Next we drove to Mammoth Hot Springs in the NW corner of Yellowstone NP. we had a ton of elk right in front of our cabin! Buffalo everywhere in Lamar Valley, where a few of you went as 4th graders. The bull elk comes into town....ready to fight for his mating ritual Next we went on the BearTooth Highway, which reaches nearly 11, 000 feet and usually has mountain goats. Next we headed down to Old Faithful and the Geyser basin.  it was truly amazing! one of our favorites--Sapphire pool! Trip to Washington DC, Frankfurt, and Switzerland

We spent the days from July 4th to July 8th in Washington DC with Jenny's parents, siblings and families, and with Laura and Andrew, Rob, Carolyn, Kip, Lainey, Evelyn, Nora, Mary, and Hannah Here are a few fun pictures of the family reunion -- And, yes, we visited with Uncle Max at a Greek Restaurant. It was good to see him. Then Larry and I flew to Frankfurt for his week of teaching Star Alliance. At the end of the week, we had two days of fun in Switzerland. Our first day was spent on Jungfrau Pass between the Jungfrau and Monch Peaks, which are as tall as the Tetons and covered in glaciers.
