Church History Trip Day 1 & 2
On Friday July 9th 2010, we left at 8:00 am and we drove 680 miles to Independence, Missouri. It was a very long day with lots of candy bar stops. That night, we stayed in the Hilton Garden Inn. We reserved all our hotels on this trip and made sure all of them had pools.

On Saturday, we spent the day learning about the history of Independence. We went to the LDS visitors' center and to the Temple Lot church. We met Apostle Sheldon, the oldest living apostle of the Church of Christ (Hedrickites). He was sharp and talkative and ready to teach us about his church. The children thought he was a little too much and they couldn't get out of there fast enough! We also went to Liberty Jail and enjoyed a beautiful experience with the Spirit. We all felt so much gratitude for the sacrifices that were made so that we could live the gospel today. Finally, we found a drive in movie theater and watched Eclipse that night. We listened to the movie on a radio station and we tried to get comfortable in the car to see the huge screen. Josh was smart; he sat on the roof!
